Course Description
Dandruff is a common hair condition and very obvious because of the visible flakes that appear around a hair shaft. Dandruff is caused by Malassezia yeasts. The biological activity of the yeast results in irritation and flaking of skin. Treating dandruff requires disrupting the natural activity of the yeast. Anti-dandruff actives are strongly anti fungal.

This 90-minute accredited training will examine these issues and explore a variety of actives, with a special emphasis on Zinc Pyrithione. Dandruff actives pose special formulation problems, and some commercial products will be examined. As an OTC drug in the US, the Final Monograph will be considered, as well as global regulations.
