The use of microarrays is having dramatic impact on the collection of gene expression and other genomic data that is of critical value for the drug discovery and development process. The numerous options available, from printed to spotted arrays, on a wide variety of surfaces, and with different modes of quantitation, place a premium on insuring validation of data, comparisons, and ways to improve interpretation of the large sets of resulting data. Discussions will focus on those applications for which microarrays can provide the greatest advantage and improved performance including coverage of techniques that provide the best support for these applications. |
