11th International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB2012)

  March 14, 2012

BIOTEC, NSTDA, KMUTT and APBioNet, at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok
October 3-5, 2012

The International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) is the official conference of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet). The main objective of InCoB is to provide a platform for experts and budding bioinformaticians to discuss and exchange ideas and thoughts on the development of bioinformatics in the Asia Pacific region. Beginning in 2002, InCoB has grown to become one of the largest bioinformatics conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. This annual conference showcases the latest research and technologies in all areas of bioinformatics and is attended by practitioners from both biology and computing backgrounds in the Asia-Pacific region. In recognition that it has been ten years since the inception of InCoB in Bangkok in 2002, InCoB2012 will be hosted again by Thailand during 3-5 October 2012 at the newly renovated world-class Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, Thailand. The main hosts are NSTDA (National Science and technology Development Agency), the umbrella organization overseeing the previous hosts of InCoB2002, BIOTEC (National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) and KMUTT (King Mongkut’s University of Technology) , one of nine National Research Universities in Thailand and an education pioneer in the field of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics.

The theme for InCoB2012 will be “From Biological Data to Knowledge to Technological Breakthroughs”. Thus, the conference aims to promote the advancement of bioinformatics and computational biology and encourage the exchange of scientific breakthrough amongst participants. InCoB2012 will include the latest bioinformatics and related topics on agroinformatics, population genetics, drug design and discovery, systems biology, biological sequence analysis, expression data analysis, scalable data storage and other related subjects. There will be pre-conference tutorials, special sessions, panel discussions, competitions, and technical visits to the Thailand Science Park, the country’s leading integrated R&D hub, home to NSTDA, as well as to the newly opened Biopharmaceutical cGMP Pilot Plant at KMUTT.
